08/01/64 Return to trenches around Peterburg from north of James River. Remained until 8/18 then moved out on Weldon Railroad and attacked. Engaged again on 8/19 on same field--Battle of Davis Farm. One killed, two severely wounded, one slightly wounded.
08/20/64 Moved back to former positions in trenches and remained
until the end of the month admiring skyrockets and dodging mortar shells
